The Summer Band Concerts in Pinner Memorial Park this year have raised a total of £2103 for the Heath Robinson Museum! In addition they have provided enjoyment for countless local people of all ages. We had a rainy first concert with Harrow Steel Band, who nonetheless played with their usual skill and enthusiasm. Their valiant audience put up umbrellas and carried on.
On 2 August we were blessed with perfect weather when we were entertained by the Fats Rollini Jazz & Blues Band. A ‘swarm’ of loyal supporters descended on the Memorial Park and had a thoroughly enjoyable experience. Any umbrellas to be seen were to fend off the sun’s rays rather than the rain showers. The concerts with Grimsdyke Brass and the Stardust Big Band also had good weather and a wonderful turnout.
