Everyone is very welcome to come to a special ceremony on Tuesday 21st October, in Pinner Memorial Park, to commemorate those who suffered and died in wartime.
2-2.15 pm approx. 90 children from West Lodge Primary School will assemble around the Dove of Peace in the Peace Garden of Pinner Memorial Park, together with members of the United Services Club, The West House and Heath Robinson Museum Trust, the Pinner Association and the public.
2.15pm The Mayor of Harrow Cllr Ajay Maru, with the Deputy Lieutenant Mr John Purnell GM QPM DL, members of The Royal British Legion, and the Armed Forces with a young trumpeter, will commence the wreath laying ceremony.
2.30pm the Mayor and his team will meet the school children, and then depart.
The children from West Lodge will then have sessions learning about the meaning of the day, West House and the Heath Robinson Museum.
The people of Pinner bought West House and Pinner Memorial Park after the Second World War to be a permanent memorial to the fallen of two World Wars. This is still commemorated with the Shrine and Books of Remembrance at West House. The Dove of Peace in the Peace Garden was designed by the young people of Nower Hill High School.
